Michelle Joins the Team

It’s been a busy 18 months for Street and Park Furniture. We now have a new full time Sales Representative for the East Coast of Australia. Based in Sydney’s inner west and travelling regularly to Victoria and Queensland, Michelle Herbut has been with the company for 6 years and is a qualified Designer, knowledgeable in all products and processes. Cameron rides 1,100 kilometers on a bike….. In just 7 days !!

On May 8 Street & Park Director Cameron Johnston will be starting a mammoth journey on two wheels. He and 18 hardy souls will head out from the centre of Melbourne down Apollo Bay and around to Adelaide. The route takes in the Great Ocean Road and then heads inland to avoid the logging trucks around Millicent and Mt Gambier.

But you would only do this if there was a really good reason to do it. An in this case there is - raising funds for a charity called Mind Australia. Mind Australia is a leading independent community based organisation working with people with mental illness to get them back into life

Each year Mind support over 4,000 clients and 4000 carers through 92 programs in South Australia and Victoria to;

·         rebuild their lives

·         reconnect with family and friends

·         rediscover life as full and active members of the community.

They help people make life saving changes.

This work has become even more imperative with the impending closure of facilities at Glenside hospital.

Exposing yourself to others difficulties and offering a hand is a very rewarding experience. Imagine having cycled 200 km in a day and thinking to yourself, that took a fair effort and then needing to do that another 5 days. In my mind mental illness must be a little like this except that distance of the journey is unknown. To cope with this as a patient or parent must take the sort of tenacity entrepreneurs could only dream about.

Street and Park Furniture New Lonsdale Premises

We have moved into our new home! Accompanied by our sister company Rowlands Metal Works, these brand new modern facilities were designed to accommodate two growing companies, facilitate more efficient production and create an environment that inspires new ideas.

This 2500 square metre building houses a brand new in house combination punch and laser cutting machine, CNC turret press machine, CNC press break machine, programmable guillotining, welding bays, timber finishing areas, furniture assembly areas, packaging, offices and more.

We have in house designers who work closely with the manufacturing arm, so we can provide you with the best possible information when it comes to custom designing a new product, altering an existing product, new manufacturing techniques or processes and new materials.

We specialise in project work, so we are happy to discuss designing products unique to a particular area or street. We have vast experience in delivering custom furniture.
